Tashkent Supermarket Halal Food - Midwood in Brooklyn provides high-quality halal food. A trusted local favorite, verified for authenticity.
"I visited the Brighton Beach location. Wide variety of foods, hot, cold and everything in-between. The big negative is that No one speaks English as far as the store staff. I had several questions regarding some of the hot food dishes. The hot bar attendant had no idea of what I was asking nor did she understand what cheese meant. Simple questions on where certain items are, looking for cold water or cold drinks? - I was lead to a wall of basic seltzer water, from the Mexican stock boy who also spoke no English. The only thing they do know to speak is “ I don’t speak English”. Simple steamed rice was the same price as avocado shrimp salad & some meat dishes. There are many items are over priced, however convenience & fresh is the justification. If there is a question, don't waste your time, just keep going. Lastly at check out is guided by unfriendly, non smiling security guards who think they are working a prison line, simply push to guide you out the exit without a thank you or have a good day. Does anyone smile in this market..? That left the last impression. Perhaps hiring an enthusiastic English speaking floor manager to help and greet customers would be a huge positive for English speaking customers after all we are living in the UNITED STATES of America, this is where owners fail to understand the importance of English speaking employees who work in store. I would have purchased a hell of a lot more had my questions answered. Regardless of the vast amount of food categories available, the lack of good service is a huge problem and a negative."
"That’s one of my favorite place to get food and get groceries. They have pretty good variety and delicious food. Employees are very friendly and helpful. Their fruits and vegetables are very good also. I recommend everyone to go there. Good job guys.."
"This is a very small version of the Tashkent supermarket. When I came, I didn't know it was that small. I came to buy specific things, but they weren't available at this location. I ended up getting plov to go. It was slightly warm, but I can't really complain about it, because it was not much left of it, plus it was around 8 pm on Friday. When I warmed it up the next day at home, it tasted really good. So, this is like a regular Russian store or any store with Uzbek touch)))) They sell fresh Halal meat in here. All the food is Halal. The cashier guy was very nice. Brooklyn, New York"
